Hi there! My name is Traci, I am a 42 year old married mommy of one 18-month little girl. We live in the suburbs of Los Angeles, not too far from where I grew up. I’m born and raised here in Southern California, I’m a true Valley Girl at heart, now raising a 2nd generation Valley Girl! ❤
This blog has seen me through quite a few different stages in my life, this last one, the most entertaining by far. I love to write and have vowed to find the time in my life to write as often as I can. I hope that this blog becomes somewhere you come to read and laugh. Shake your head with me that you too have had days like this. Because navigating newlywed life and toddlerhood is nothing short of a breakdown ready to happen!
A little about me……….I had an illustrious 11-year career in advertising sales, both radio and internet. I started out really young, I rose fast and I burned out even faster. Around the time I hit 30, Hurricane Katrina had just hit in New Orleans and I was sitting in my living room, day in and day out trying to sell million dollar ad contracts for CNET, for a site that they were claiming would be the next MySpace or Facebook. Today it is what we call Instagram.
One day I just snapped, and realized that I wasn’t living the life I wanted and I needed to make some changes to make ME happy.
I loved the paycheck, I loved the free cell phone and laptop, I loved the expense account and fancy lunches, dinners and travel. But that was it.
I felt like I needed to do something that was going to make me happy. That would give me a reason to wake up each morning.
One thing led to another, and 10 years now I have been a full time nanny for two different amazing families that I met just by chance and both have changed my life for the better more than I could ever imaged possible.
Having a degree to be a preschool director and having such a diverse background in child development is really useful, but NOTHING tops firsthand experience! I am so grateful for all of my nanny experience because it sure has made the transition to mommy MUCH easier than it would have been!
Thanks for checking out my little corner of the web……I hope you’ll come back often! Please don’t hesitate to say hi! I love to meet new people. 🙂
