This little guy has brought me so much love and joy and I can’t even explain it. He’s what’s been missing since Riley died. I miss her terribly, but Leo helps fill that hole A LOT. And Sloane was disturbed apparently. But didn’t say much when she saw me open it. Depression is a real thing. And struggling as a mommy while trying to care for you baby/toddler can be excruciating. I wake up each day wanting to be “better”. Wanting to show my daughter that nothing will ever get in the way of my loving her and my taking the best care of her ever.//But some days watching TV and cuddling are the best I can do. Making sure she’s fed. Making sure she has fun. And making sure she’s safe are the best I can do. Those days are few and far between lately, but when they show up they smack me down and make me feel horrible. Make me feel jealous of those that don’t suffer. Make me feel like I’m robbing her of the happy mommy she deserves 24/7. She’s too young to understand, so for now, it’s my guilt and I own it. And I just keep putting one foot in front of the other and know that *maybe* tomorrow will be better. And if not, maybe the day after that. 🌞 The sun WILL shine again. I will snap out of this and we will move forward.
