Three years ago today I became an Aunt to the most amazing little girl on this planet. Dylan Sara, you stole my heart from the moment I knew you were growing in your mommy’s tummy and on your way. I never expected that I’d be giving you a cousin and lifelong best friend in your first year of life, that was just a huge bonus. Your smile, your giggle, your ferocious ability to love everyone around you and your hilarious sense of humor are only some of my favorite things about you. I feel like maybe I’ve been dishonest publicly. Brooklyn and I did not get off to the best start. She’s been with us since April 14th. She’s been a wild, crazy ball of fluff, biting constantly and hard for me to cuddle and love. I suspect we adopted her way too soon after I lost Riley and I wasn’t truly ready to love another dog. But Sloane was constantly asking for Riley and looking for her and it broke my heart more than it was already broken. Enter Brooklyn. I promise you she has been well cared for. Safely kept from the toddlers and babies in her own pack-n-play in our bedroom. And well, she has been driving me BONKERS for the past 4 months. Getting her fixed and having the last of her puppy teeth extracted on Tuesday has changed her into the puppy I needed. My own little cuddle bug who can help me miss Riley just a little less. She loves laying in her bed now. She gives nice little kisses and well, she even doesn’t mind her new couture Sloane and I got her to cover her stitches. (Apparently cones for a 5lb 9oz dog are impractical, go figure!😂) Yesterday and today have been the best days getting to snuggle and get to know my Brookey-Boo. I am sorry it took me this long to let her in, but man I am so glad that she’s here now. I mean look at that face!!!!
